Adequate Ventilation While air tightness is critical for an energy efficient home the ventilation and breathability of the air trapped in the home is of utmost importance when considering indoor air quality and reducing pollutants.
- Superior HVAC systems equipped with high performance air filters capture the smaller, respirable particles. These are expensive to install and operate, however various solutions are available to consider air filtration in conjunction with the central HVAC system.
Minimal tolerance for contaminants from indoor sources: Our extensive product research enables The Healthiest Home to be abreast of the latest innovations in alternative construction materials. We work directly with your budget to source and install interior materials that have the lowest record of toxins, ideally none at all.
Most indoor air pollution comes from sources inside a building. For example, adhesives, carpeting, upholstery, manufactured wood products, and cleaning agents may emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including formaldehyde a known carcinogen. We are pleased to offer non-toxic alternatives for ALL interior building and decorating products.
Research shows that some VOCs can cause chronic and acute health effects at high concentrations, and some are known carcinogens. Low to moderate levels of multiple VOCs may also produce acute reactions.
Biological contaminants: Among many, the most well-known fungi type is mold, which can be found everywhere, and there are no practical ways to entirely abolish mold spores in the indoor environment. The best protection against mold is moisture control to prevent it from breeding. The Healthiest Home uses the most appropriate antimicrobial construction materials to limit deterioration of in indoor quality via biological contaminants. We eliminate the possibility of creating areas where stagnant water can accumulate in ducts, humidifiers and drain pans, or where water can collect on ceiling tiles, carpeting, or insulation.

An in-house crew of experienced, knowledgeable and “green” minded trades who work hand in hand with our Owner/Construction Director as well as our Energy Guru/Project Manager to complete all new home construction.
