Go Green

Engineered wood use only a fraction of the precious hardwood needed to produce excellent flooring. Not to be confused with laminate floors, engineered wood floors are constructed on the multi-layer construction - a layer of hardwood on top (varies depending on supplier from veneer thin to 3/8") and then layers (cross-ply) of core materials make up the bottom layers. The core materials vary using only a non-formaldehyde core. A floor with this layered construction is stable and remains level even during seasonal variations in temperature and air humidity. All approved finishes, adhesives and stains meet strict European emissions standards and all woods are from a sustainable source.

  • Sleek and modern to traditional styles, huge array of stains and species available
  • Most variations can be nailed down, glued down (for a solid wood feel) or floated (gluing or "clicking") planks together not to the floor
  • A natural oil finish enhances the intrinsic beauty of the wood while preserving its character. Natural oil penetrates into the wood and hardens the surface from the inside, making it water- repellent and easy to clean.
  • Depending on type, can be sanded and refinished with the same wear layer thickness as a ¾" solid wood floor
  • Extremely dimensionally stable as core material will absorb and release moisture without affecting the top layer
  • Consistent milling and structurally sound, these flooring options are ideally suited for a variety of décor preferences
  • Low-VOC polyurethane or all-natural oil finishes available.
  • When possible FSC certified

Depending on the selection of wood and suppliers, other points may be applicable.
